After a solid four years in our little ex-pasta-shop storefront we finally came to terms with the fact that we didn’t fit. We actually hadn’t fit for at least a year, but the space was so charming and the neighborhood so nice that we dragged our feet for a while.
We looked at studios in Industry City (too isolated) Dumbo (too loud and far) Downtown Brooklyn (too depressing) and Redhook (too flood-prone). We finally settled on a lovely sunlit space in Gowanus Creative Studios where we felt immediately at home. It’s just scruffy enough to be comfortable and easily accessible to clients from all over. The management is super helpful and nice and it’s great to be surrounded by other creative businesses. There’s an Italian bakery on the ground floor so the place smells perpetually like biscotti. It’s grand for our morale, if not our sugar intake.
The one con is that we’re directly across from a Tesla and stare into the eyes of this ugly bastard every day.
Come visit! We have great snacks.
